Les Coquines gets Flirty

Les Coquines gets Flirty

It’s never a dull moment in my Les Coquines suit. Here’s a mini story enjoying an afternoon hang captured by Jordan Lutes.

Don’t buy anything beach related that you cannot get tossed around in, whether it’s in the water or in the air :)

Not only is this a beach suit but it also can be lingerie. 2 for 1.

The mesh, vibrant color and sporty style – make it one of my faves for a year long california summer.

Backyard Swim

Backyard Swim

Backyard summer sessions // ginger tending // vintage vibes

I enjoy a good afternoon, cooling down in the backyard. And who wouldn’t in their Blue Life swimwear. Its comfortable and sporty.

One pieces have been a great summer friend. My orange shell fingers agree :)

I’m usually the one to sport the colors but sometimes you need some white to let other things around you bring the color.

VTP_8080

Ginger Flowers, Planet Blue and some water. Is basically all you need in the backyard.

Booty’s and Smiles are what summer is all about.

Skater Girl Sunday

Skater Girl Sunday

I’ve noticed I have a bit of a Skater girl style ..

Although – I am not a consistent boarder -because falling onto cement seems a lot more painful than falling into water or snow..

I am inspired to make it more of a hobby! I am pretty inspired by my new Mickey Mouse socks by Vans…um yes!

Vans have always been a classic go to when it comes to sneakers.

I find them to be a bit more cozier than Converse, What do you think?

They have a vintage feel and nowadays, they come in just about every color as well as funky patterns. For a pretty decent price too. Also – check out their fun socks – they keep you young.

Not gonna lie, when I have a chance to dress like a tomboy – I will take it :)

Cozy tee and some denim cutoffs are my key.

Denim doesn’t always have to be blue either, mix it up!

Boys and Arrows in South Africa

Boys and Arrows in South Africa

When packing for a foreign country – there can be a bit of stress when deciding what to bring. However, I knew right away that 2 of my staple items were coming along…

Spending my winter, which was South Africa’s summer was epic. The more summers the better…

Living out of a couple of suitcases became a blessing. I got to really cherish a few items and the saying “quality over quantity” couldn’t have been more true.

Cape Town – South Africa was so much different than I imagined. It was like a jam packed, quaint city filled with friendly people, cute cafe’s and beachy vibes. But in just a twenty minute drive… you are blown away by miles of vineyards, insane mountain terrain, and endless curvy coasts of blue ocean! It’s an outdoor dream.

This particular beach known as Muizenberg is on the Indian Ocean side and is dotted with cute colorful old beach houses. Tiny ones. Not used anymore :) So it was quite fun to have them around!

Boys and Arrows has been a long time favorite for me. And I am so glad that I had a piece of them with me on my trip.

Not only is their brand adorable but the girls behind the company are what make it so special. They are two down to earth sisters who are quirky, hardworking and just a blast to be around! Always laughing and always passionate. I really think those qualities shine right through their brand. I am so glad I got to know these girls a couple years ago. Every piece has character and the patterns they pick are just rad.

They only use to have swimwear but now they have branched out with some great, beachy clothing pieces. These OVERALLS are the best. Except when you have to go to the bathroom…that’s the only time they aren’t as cool haha.

Long, very long in length… breezy and cozy material. They fit just right and we all know that isn’t easy to come by.

Even better, they are STILL available in some sizes. Which is a miracle!

Get them here: BOYS and ARROWS

Another great part about this brand – is they have multiple types of items (dress, suit, cover up etc) in EACH cute print – so you have options!

Check out the rest of their boho swim wear – while you’re at it.

I like to pair my white, light colored outfits with a loud color – whether it’s your accessories or shoes or in this case….HAT!

As JANESSA LEONE does make pricier hats in the $100-$200 dollar range. They are my favorite! They don’t smoosh and they fit perfect. I have thrown away way too many $25 dollar hats. Plus, I don’t mind supporting local, hand made artists.

So that about does it for my two favorite items that endured my South Africa journey with me. These simple items truly made my trip a good one.

Water that Melon.

Water that Melon.

One of my favorite days – so far this summer – was enjoying some fresh cut melon along the shores of Malibu.

It may sound a little cliche but we all know it’s true, it’s the little things in life that count and we remember.

Here’s my idea of a relaxing sunset snack after a fun day at the beach..

Not only are watermelon a healthy snack – but they are basically water – so it’s great to hydrate if you spend as much time in the sun as I do! You also get a lot more bang for your buck with their size. Chop em’ up and put them in Tupperware – this cold, sweet snack will last you the week!

On a STYLE note….It’s still Summer – and it’s still a great day to get into some B SWIM wear. I own three different pieces from them – so no fake advertising here ; )

This onesie known as the “Boss Macramie” will undoubtedly turn you into a bossy beach babe.

See, clearly bossy.

And if you play with your food, you might just attract another watermelon lover.

So, Rule 1. Always Play with your food. 2. Wear BSWIM

So – that’s it for the watermelon series. Get your hands on this fun print: REGATTA

It comes in many shapes and sizes.

And call it a day!

Bikini of the Day

Bikini of the Day

Goes to…

Mikoh!

This suit is one of my go-to’s especially when I am ready for a good amount of time in the sun.

Although, the bottoms are small – I find this suit to be amazingly comfortable and it stays on well so you can stay active all day.

The best part about the suit is the BACK.

I prefer it in the Lavender, which is available right now online, however it also comes in MANY colors.

Lily Girl Lovin’

Lily Girl Lovin’

Well, Hello Monday. Hope you all had a relaxing weekend – or a real sun bather – sheesh it was hot in California!

Today’s post is a Jewelry brand that I am quite fond of for many reasons.

1. San Diego Made. 2. Affordable 3. Hand-made 4. Boho-chic 5. The designer is the sweetest…and her line is named after her pup!The best part about jewelry, for me, is the layering. You can mix and match different necklaces and rings to really spice up that same outfit you have worn 3 times this week. 😉

On the other hand – some of her pieces look stunning, alone and don’t need no body else 😉 This necklace is one of my favorites – it’s unique and perfect for a simple blouse and jeans.

Dress it up or……dress it down, like below…….

To be honest, I am not a huge earrings lover. I am just picky and tend to stay loyal to my necklaces and rings. However…these hoops right here – have a simplicity to them that will make them your favorite pair! Even better ——– they come in silver, gold and rose gold (my personal FAV) !

Give her site a peek —–> LILY GIRL JEWELRY – Lori is a super talented designer and I can’t wait to see her journey of jewels.

Hope you all have a great Monday – I know I will – Thanks to Lily girl. xo

Monday Blues Style Guide

Monday Blues Style Guide

\\ Casual Monday Wear //

3 essentials: Comfy, fun leggings + jean jacket + chucks.

Transitioning from work to gym, or running errands – this outfit combo is both comfortable, affordable and looks a helluva lot better than baggy sweats 😉

I like to pick one CRAZY part of my outfit, in this case the leggings, and throw it with all basics (jean jacket and chucks).

On this Monday…I choose…….. pink snake skin, totally wild and a fun reason to get through my Monday Blues :)Here I am wearing // Prism pants – love their amazing thin spandex – its not too tight and you’re legs can breathe! It looks great outside the gym too.

Other suggestions for fun prints: Target & American Eagle! Look at these bad boys!

Only $19.95 too! :)

Mix up your Monday Blues with some fun leggings. & add in a leather backpack/bag to accessorize. :)

Sporty Suits in Pretty Pastels

Sporty Suits in Pretty Pastels

KORE SWIM x LADY TOMBOY

Powder Blue x Peach ——– my new favorite PASTEL PAIR!

Have you been searching for that perfect one piece? Because me for, it has been way harder than I imagined. Coming across this bad ass suit was definitely MEANT TO BE. It’s SPORTY, it’s COMFY, and it’s my soul mate.

I love the CUT, COLOR and STYLE behind this brand!

<><><> Meet Kore Swim <><><>

The pretty ladies and designers, Jessica and Nicole state, “We believe that every woman should feel empowered, unique and, above all, like a knockout.”

[Well heck yeah, I agree. I want that! They have only been around since 2011 too – Wow!]

My FAV part about KORE:

KORE swimwear fuses fashion and sport to accentuate a woman’s finest features in her most radiant, powerful state. Each suit contours effortlessly to the body, and has been crafted with both the glamorous sunbather and adventurous surfer in mind.

*Lady Tomboy approved*

‘Nyx’

I am sure some of you prefer a bit more coverage on the booty and hips so I want to also recommend a few of their other suits that are on point!

This is the ‘Minerva Maillot Mojito’

And the ‘Flora Maillot Bellini’ (also in all black)

They also have adorable two – pieces – and a lot of CUTE STUFF so make sure to check out their site:

www.korewear.com

// Although, they are on the pricier side – I promise you their material, fit and durability are amazing. And that is WORTH it. \\

Rosè x Pura Vida

Rosè x Pura Vida

July is here and I can’t wait to spend salty days in suits and warm nights in sweats! Nothing beats living life to the fullest like a sunset and some rosè…

Style // Light top + Light sweats for that end of the day at the beach. You’re all salty but you want to stay dry to watch the sunset. Nothing feels better than a cozy outfit that’s easy to slip on.

Add in some Pura Vida bracelets for color.

The phrase “Pura Vida” (pu·ra vi·da) means “pure life” in Spanish. The pura vida lifestyle is embodied by the enjoyment of a life lived slowly, the celebration of good fortune, and the refusal to take anything for granted. It’s about being free and living life to the fullest; it’s an attitude.

These bracelets are doing great things by providing jobs for artisans in Costa Rica.

Get the whole look for these summer nights at Planet Blue.
